I have never been a New Years resolution kind of girl. Too many grand intentions and failed attempts. Yet at the start of 2022, I wanted to ease into the year with gentle goal setting, focusing on creating good habits. Nothing big, just small changes that could make a positive impact in my daily life and those around me...some of these changes include monthly handwritten cards to loved ones, exploration in the art studio, more time reading, and intentional gratitude for daily blessings.

The first book I read this year, that inspired my new collection Abundance, is the transformative, One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. I have always considered myself someone who looks on the bright side, trying to see the good in situations and being thankful. My gratitude was an overarching thankfulness for life, but what about the hard parts? The demands of motherhood? The mess? The tiredness? Life is more than rosy moments that fill our hearts with happiness, yet God calls us to give thanks in EVERYTHING, the beautiful and the ugly. The wonderful thing about practicing daily gratitude is that when we do encounter the hard difficult parts of life, our hearts will remember what to do.

This book truly deepened my understanding of gratitude and the transformative way it can change your relationship with God and life. As I started counting 1,000 gifts in my own life and giving thanks to God, it opened my heart to the abundance of the life I have always had.
